Counseling

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will counseling take?

We ask couples to commit to weekly counseling for 6-8 weeks. At that point, we will reassess. Some couples “graduate” and return as needed. Others discover childhood wounds or other diagnoses are impacting their current realities and desire to continue working together to deepen healing and restoration.

What if my spouse isn’t willing to participate?

There’s still hope! You have influence and the changes you make individually can greatly impact your partner. Please speak with us regarding your situation and we’ll work with you on a plan.

I need individual counseling. Could my spouse join sessions later on?

Absolutely! Many clients begin with individual counseling and later invite their spouse to join for couples sessions. Once you’ve achieved your individual goals, your spouse is welcome to join you.

Can I work with separate counselors—one for myself and one for couples counseling?

Yes, you can continue working with your individual counselor while also seeing a different counselor from Married Life for couples sessions.

We do not take insurance but we are happy to offer you a Super Bill. A Super Bill is a detailed monthly statement that summarizes the services provided to a client, which can be submitted to their insurance provider or health savings account (HSA) for potential reimbursement. Clients can use Super Bills to seek reimbursement for out-of-network services. As an out-of-network practice, it is the client’s responsibility to verify coverage and manage reimbursement with their insurance company.
