Do You Offer Christian Counseling?
How We Honor Faith, Respect Every Belief, & Help Couples Love Well
Why This Question Matters
I’m so glad you asked! This is an important question—whether you’re specifically seeking Christian counseling or hoping to avoid it. We’ve heard concerns from both perspectives, and they’re completely valid. When you’re already hurting or struggling, the last thing you want is to feel judged, dismissed, or pressured by someone you’ve trusted to help.
At Married Life Counseling, our primary goal is simple and clear: to help people love well. That guiding mission holds true no matter your faith background, beliefs, or worldview.
Our Core Mission: Helping People Love Well
Therapists Who Value Connection and Growth
We hire therapists who are, first and foremost, passionate about helping couples. Each counselor on our team deeply values the beauty and meaning of relationships—those built on love, safety, companionship, and mutual support.
We also look for therapists with a growth mindset—people who are committed to ongoing learning both professionally and personally.
Our Commitment to Excellence in Couples Therapy
Working with couples requires specialized training and heart. That’s why all our counselors are pursuing certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—one of the most research-backed and effective methods for couples therapy.
Each week, our team gathers for EFT consultation and training because we believe that excellence in couples work matters.
Where Does Faith Come In?
Meeting You Exactly Where You Are
We’re not here to debate, convert, or challenge your spiritual beliefs. Some of our clients are Christians. Some are not. We meet you where you are, and we walk with you from there.
Every therapist at Married Life Counseling brings their own spiritual perspective to the table, but our job is not to teach theology. Our role is to help you and your partner heal, grow, and reconnect—while honoring your values and worldview.
Faith as a Personal Foundation
A Therapist’s Perspective
Speaking for myself, my personal faith in God shapes my life, my relationships, and my work—but not in the form of religion, denomination, labels, or assumptions.
I believe we’re created for relationships: with God, within ourselves, and with each other. If you’d like to incorporate prayer or Scripture into your sessions, I’m more than happy to do that with you. If not, that’s okay too.
A Holistic Approach to Counseling
Caring for the Whole Person
As part of our holistic counseling approach, we ask about your spiritual background—just like we ask about sleep, nutrition, and stress levels—because we care about your whole self.
But we always follow the client’s lead. We extend the same honor, respect, and curiosity toward your beliefs and values that we hope you’ll offer us.
A Helpful Analogy: Heart Care for Relationships
Think of it like this: If you needed a cardiologist, you’d likely want someone skilled, experienced, and trained in heart care. Their personal faith might not be your top concern—you’d want someone who can keep your heart beating strong.
That’s what we aim to do at Married Life Counseling: help keep your relational heart strong, healthy, and connected.
We’re not a church. We’re a couples counseling practice committed to restoring connection, trust, and intimacy in relationships.
Finding the Right Fit for You
No matter your faith perspective—Christian, spiritual-but-not-religious, agnostic, or questioning—our intake coordinators will be glad to hear your preferences and help match you with a therapist who’s a good fit.
We encourage you to explore our website, read our therapist bios, and check out our blogs to get a feel for who we are and how we work.
Our Promise to You
You are the expert in your own life. Our role is to sit in the passenger seat long enough to understand what’s happening and help you get where you want to go—with more love, more clarity, and more hope.
We’re honored to be part of your journey.
